Ophthalmic Solutions
Ophthalmic Viscoelastic
Ophthalmic viscosurgical devices or simply OVD have revolutionized the process of cataract surgery as well as IOL implantation. The OVDs are used to maintain a deep anterior chamber during the anterior segment surgery, reduces the damage caused to the corneal endothelium and the neighboring ocular tissues. Optechnics Unlimited offers an array of ophthalmic solutions like hyaluronate ophthalmic solution and pharmaceutical ophthalmic solution and ophthalmic visco surgical device. These equipments are used during the surgery to aid in orbital surgery and to shield the cornea.
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Solution
This comprises of 2% of Occugel w/v hydroxypropyl methylcellulose solution. The ophthalmic viscosurgical device is an isotonic, a sterile and an apyrogenic viscoelastic solution of highly purified, non-inflammatory hydroxyl propyl methy cellulose (hpmc) solution with high molecular weight which is greater than 80,000 daltons for intraocular use during the surgery of the anterior segment of the eye.
For every 2% w/v hpmc solution of each ml solution provides 20 mg of viscoelastic HPMC that is dissolved in a balanced salt solution. The viscosity of the solution is 4000 to 5500 cps.
Indications
OVD is used as an aid in the anterior segment surgical procedures like intraocular lens implantation and cataract extraction. The OVD creates a deep chamber facilitating efficient manipulation which significantly causes fewer traumas to corneal endothelium and ocular tissues.
Contraindications
When OVD is used by a trained Ophthalmic Surgeon, there are almost no Contraindications.
Warnings
- Do not use the package if the integrity of the sterile package is compromised.
- The OVD is for intraocular use only.
- The OVD is for single use only.
- The device is not to be placed in the direct sunlight or temperature exceeding 40ã,ã °C
- Do not resterilize the device.
Storage
Supply
Occugel is basically a sterilized solution of 2% w/v hydroxypropyl methylcellulose which is available in 2 ml, 3ml pfs pouch pack and 5 ml vial in a pouch pack of ten.
TRUVIZ - Trypan Blue Ophthalmic Solution - 0.06%w/v)
Truviz Blue Solution safely stains the anterior lens capsule and is mainly used in the cataract surgery. The most remarkable feature of this solution is that it stains the anterior capsule without damaging the corneal endothelium.
Indication
Truviz facilitates several surgical procedures for cataract extraction ( IOL surgery and phacosurgery ) and acts as a staining agent.

Miotic Carbachol Intraocular Solution
We are the manufacturers and exporters of Truviz -0.01 Carbachol Intraocular Solution for obtaining the miosis during the surgery. These solutions are widely used in hospitals and recommended by most doctors. They reduce the intensity of intraocular pressure elevation during the first 24 hours after a cataract surgery. The solutions are processed from superior quality ingredients. This solution is available at a reasonable price and available in a qualitative packing in order to maintain the original form.

Truviz - Silicon Oil
Truviz is the second most abundant element found on Earth and being versatile in nature it is used as thermic fluid oils, hydraulic fluids and as lubricants. It is made of two ingredients which are Silly Putty and boric acid. The consumer products like antiflatulents often contain Silicon oil. It is also used a substitute for vitreous solution to treat difficult cases that involves retinal detachment like penetrating ocular trauma, large retinal tears and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
Truviz is a surgical lubricant made of silicon oil which is used in various surgical procedures like cataract and IOL implantation. It is an ophthalmic solution which assists in corneal protection and orbital surgery.
Features
This ophthalmic solution is a distilled, an aseptic and made of apyrogenic silicone oil designed for sustained blockage after a surgical procedure.
- Made of 100% silicon oil.
- Viscosity (25°C) —–1000cs.
- Refractive index (25°C) —–1.40.

Truviz --Cross Linker for Corneal Collagen(Only for export)
Corneal collagen cross-linking technique uses UV light and a photo sensitizer to toughen the chemical bonds in the cornea. The main purpose of the treatment is to freeze the progress and stop the abrupt changes that occur in the cornea which is known as ectasia. The changes are typically characterized by corneal thinning and an increase in the anterior and posterior curvature of the cornea which leads to astigmatism and myopia. Keratoconus is the most common ectasia and it is generally noticed after laser vision correction like LASIK.
It is a photo polymerizing device for Cross linking of Corneal Collagen using Riboflavin (C3R) for treatment of Keratoconus.Corneal Collagen Crosslinking with Riboflavin (CXL) is an ongoing keratoconus treatment. CXL works by heightening collagen crosslinks that are natural “anchors” developed within the cornea. These anchors are responsible by forbidding the cornea from bulging out and by becoming steep and disproportionate.
Truviz --Riboflavin Dextran Isotonic Solution
Corneal Collagen Cross-linking with Riboflavin and UV light is a type of physio-chemical treatment for corneal ectasia and keratonus. This is perhaps for the treatment of corneal oedema and corneal melting. The surgical process involves saturating the cornea with riboflavin and keeping it lighted with UV rays at a frequency of 370nm.
The riboflavin has dual functions which are to produce free radicals that cause cross-linking of stromal collagen, thus strengthening the cornea and acting as a shield to prevent UV light from penetrating into the eyes.
